Jorge Rojas is an Argentine singer/songwriter who was initially with the band Los Nocheros (composed of him and his brothers and father), but has since broken off to go solo. This song, Vuelvo (meaning “I Return”), features his family singing with him and is a song about going home. The village and people in the video are his hometown, and the footage is basically him wandering around his village with a camera following him. It makes me so heartsick for Pennsylvania.
I was going to include the lyrics with an English translation, but being poetry (mildly sappy poetry at that), and being a translation, it kinda lost something. Suffice it to say that he’s talking about nostalgia and returning to where he belongs and being with his people. The white-haired woman in the rocking chair is his grandmother.
