Apple Cake

This is one of those special family recipes; it came from my sister in law whose mother invented it long ago. They made it thousands of times as an easy and cost efficient dessert for the family, and I learned about it while we were visiting a couple years back. I wrote down specific amounts for the ingredients when I got this just for the sake of organization, but really this is just made by adding a little, stirring, seeing how it looks,and so on.

Ingredients:
3/4 stick of butter or margarine
1 1/2 Cups sugar
3 Cups flour (the flour is supposed to be double the amount of the sugar)
2 eggs
2 apples
milk (probably about a cup or so, but I’ve never gotten a good measurement on this)

Heat oven to 350, grease and flour baking pan (I use a 9″x9″ square pan). Mix butter and sugar and add eggs. Add alternating flour and milk until batter has the consistency of regular cake batter. Add peeled, chopped apples, and bake 40-50 minutes.
