Two things that people who are cooler than I am have done:

Your life will be incomplete until you purchase and read Employee of The Month And Other Big Deals by Mary Jo Pehl.

On Saturday, Cinematic Titanic came to the Chicago area to ridicule a couple very, very bad movies. (That’s their act. They ridicule very, very bad movies.) It’s done by the people who created the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000, and I had to go. Not an option. We watched them tear apart two movies called (among several other titles each) Frankenstein’s Castle of Freaks and Blood of the Vampires. It ran from 7:30 until 12:30 at night, and we howled the whole way through and met the stars of the show.

During intermission, we even got their autographs and I told Mary Jo that I loved her, which I’m sure delighted her as she began shakily reaching into her purse for the mace (kidding- she didn’t really pull her mace on me). I got my copy of her book signed though, and began it with hubby before the second half of the show started. Easiest thing in the world to read. Ya know how some books are just easy to read? This is one of those.

The stories are bite-sized to begin with, but the flow of the writing and the self deprecating humor make them speed right by. You pick it up, turn a few pages, laugh real hard, and suddenly you’re done with the chapter. It’s light and real and a ton of fun. Good job, Pearl Forrester!

In unrelated but equally entertaining news, someone made a taxidermy BeeBop from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. You must look at it.
